Tioga Medical Center Recognized for Performance Excellence

Tioga Medical Center has been recognized with a 2023 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality.

Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance – 75th percentile or above – among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and/or Patient Perspective.

“This recognition is a testament to our staff and their commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care our patients every single day,” says Jamie Eraas, Tioga Medical Center president and CEO. “We are honored to receive this award and will continue to ensure quality is at the forefront of the care we deliver.”

The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health around the country to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

Tioga Medical Center is among a large group of rural North Dakota hospitals honored for their performance. Jody Ward, program director of the North Dakota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (FLEX) Program, says, “We are not surprised that over 75% of our rural hospitals are being honored for their performance. We see every day how hard the CAHS work to provide quality healthcare to our rural communities.”
